Kenya dual citizenship declaration support
Get help preparing a Kenyan dual citizenship declaration, understanding Form 3, organising documents and coordinating next steps from abroad.
If you hold Kenyan citizenship and another nationality, understanding the disclosure process is an important part of keeping your records in order. RENEZ EXTREME CONSULTANCY helps you prepare the information, review the published requirements and identify questions to resolve before submitting.
Disclosure and regaining are different
Kenya’s Constitution protects a citizen by birth from losing citizenship merely because they acquire another country’s citizenship. The other country’s law must also be considered. If you previously lost Kenyan citizenship, first establish whether regaining is required; filing a disclosure does not by itself restore a status that was lost. [S1, S2]
The disclosure deadline
The official eFNS guidance says a dual citizen must disclose the other citizenship in the prescribed manner within three months of becoming a dual citizen. If your disclosure is late, seek official guidance or legal advice. Do not assume a consultancy can remove the consequences or backdate an application. [S3]
Prepare your declaration records
The eFNS page identifies Form 3, photographs, birth certificate, Kenyan passport and ID, foreign passport, foreign citizenship certificate and police-clearance copy. The downloadable checklist also addresses attestation. Confirm the current requirements, certification and submission arrangements with the receiving authority or mission before filing. [S3, S4]
Your preparation file
Keep clear copies named by document type and date. Note differences in names between the Kenyan and foreign records, and collect the lawful evidence connecting those names. Keep a record of the source of each date and the status of any previous application. We help identify gaps so you can obtain genuine records rather than submit a guess.
How RENEZ supports the process
Begin with a short account of your citizenship history. We agree the support scope, help organise the documents, explain the relevant form and prepare a list of outstanding issues. You review the application details and complete any personal, sworn or attendance steps. Where submission support is agreed and allowed, it uses the official channel and your authorised information.
Fees, timing and later steps
Consultancy charges are separate from government charges. Ask for a breakdown and verify the current official invoice. After the disclosure process, you may also need passport support or to consider an endorsement application. These are separate tasks and should not be silently included in an ‘all-in-one citizenship’ promise.
Frequently asked questions
Does Kenya allow dual citizenship?
Kenya permits dual citizenship, with the citizenship-by-birth protection described above. Your specific history and the other country's law still need consideration. [S1]
I became foreign before 2010. Should I use Form 3?
First establish whether you lost Kenyan citizenship and need the regaining process. Read our [regaining page](/citizenship/regaining/) before choosing the disclosure route. [S2]
Can I apply through a mission abroad?
The eFNS guidance includes presentation of printouts at immigration headquarters or Kenyan missions abroad. Confirm the receiving mission's current arrangements. [S3]
Can a missing Kenyan ID be ignored?
Do not omit a required document without guidance. Identify the missing record and ask the receiving authority what evidence or preliminary step is needed.
Tell us when you acquired your other nationality and which citizenship records you already hold.
