Kenya permanent-residence preparation support

Explore Kenya permanent-residence categories and organise residence, family or former-citizenship records with RENEZ application preparation support.

Permanent residence can be relevant to a long-term Kenya plan, but it is different from citizenship and from a temporary permit. RENEZ EXTREME CONSULTANCY helps organise your history and the published category-specific preparation requirements.

Published permanent-residence categories

The official eFNS pack describes Category A for specified former Kenyan citizens; Category B for work-permit holders with at least seven years of permits and three years’ continuous residence immediately before application; Category C for specified children of Kenyan citizens born abroad with foreign citizenship; and Category D for spouses married to Kenyan citizens for at least three years. Each category has further requirements. [S31]

Former Kenyans and family histories

Some former citizens may need to compare regaining and permanent residence, particularly where another country’s nationality law affects dual citizenship. A child’s position should also be assessed before assuming residence is the correct route. Organise the history first and seek official or legal clarification where necessary.

Preparation and official submission

The Directorate’s process page describes an online eFNS application, supporting uploads, processing payment, Form 23, questionnaire, checklist and payment acknowledgement, with supporting-document presentation at the stated office. Confirm current presentation instructions rather than rely on an old floor or counter reference. [S32]

Our support and its limits

We help inventory residence, permit, relationship or former-citizenship evidence and organise a working file for your review. We can help identify gaps and record official questions. The authority decides the category and application; qualified legal advice may be needed for eligibility, absences or previous status issues.

FAQs

Does permanent residence give me a Kenyan passport?

No. The official eFNS FAQ distinguishes permanent residence from a Kenyan passport entitlement. [S28]

Is meeting the headline period sufficient?

No. The full category requirements and decision still apply.

Can my spouse rely on my pending application?

Do not assume a pending file determines another person's status. Plan each person's existing and proposed position separately.
