Other Kenyan permit classes: choose by activity

Compare other Kenyan permit categories and prepare the right official questions. RENEZ supports document organisation for specialised activity and residence routes.

Some applications involve specialist activities, professional registration or residence rather than ordinary employment. RENEZ EXTREME CONSULTANCY helps you organise the facts and identify the published information pack that should be reviewed.

Activity-based categories

Classes A, B, C and F

The Directorate lists A for prospecting/mining, B for agriculture and animal husbandry, C for prescribed professions and F for specific manufacturing. Sector permission and documentary requirements need a category-specific check. This overview does not substitute for the full application pack. [S14]

Classes I and M

The Directorate lists I for approved religious/charitable activities and M for refugees. Establish the person’s status, organisation and activity before choosing a route. Specialist regulatory or refugee-status questions may need appropriate professional assistance. [S14]

Residence and organisation-specific categories

Class K ordinary residents

eFNS states an age of at least 35 and assured annual income of at least USD 24,000 from the specified sources. It requires an undertaking not to undertake paid or unpaid work or income-generating activity without the appropriate class of permit. Read the full income definition and checklist before relying on the headline figures. [S17]

Class P organisation staff

The current eFNS pack describes staff of the UN, diplomatic missions, intergovernmental organisations and international NGOs linked to neighbouring hardship-country accreditation or posts. This is a specific route, not a general permit for every NGO employee. [S20]

Class Q professional charitable/religious roles

The current eFNS pack describes prescribed professionals working for religious or charitable organisations who are not engaged in preaching or religious worship and rituals. Qualifications, professional clearances, employment, organisation and tax records are relevant. [S21]

A category-specific preparation plan

Bring the actual role, organisation records, qualifications, current status and intended activity. We help inventory documents and identify the official questions. Do not force an activity into a convenient label or assume a change of job is covered by an existing permit.
